A common-sense approach to engineering and construction, paired with a unique ability to think outside the box, have allowed LTA Engineers to assist coastal communities with expert technical solutions for the increasing environmental challenges these communities face. 

LTA Engineers specializes in stormwater management systems and infrastructure solutions that improve the built environment and protect nature. We believe that development can be functional, beautiful, environmentally friendly and resilient in the face of rising tides and increased storm intensity. 

LTA Engineers has been providing sustainable, long-term solutions to coastal and island communities since 2000. 

President and founder, Lynn Townsend Burnett,  was recognized by Forbes Magazine as a community leader in 2009. She continues to provide long range planning solutions with supportive capital improvement programs to address sea level rise resiliency around the globe. 

Meet LYNN BURNETT PE

Lynn Townsend Burnett, Principal and Owner at LTA Engineers, has over 25 years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering, including serving as project manager of all types of both public and private sector projects. Lynn served as the Vice President of a nationwide engineering company prior to starting her own engineering practice in Marion and Manatee Counties. She has been responsible for all aspects of project management from conceptual planning to final certifications and she enjoys the most challenging of projects. The majority of her experience has been in stormwater, roadway, and utility related projects. Lynn has extensive experience in addressing and mitigating coastal flooding issues associated with severe climate change and sea level rise. Lynn currently serves as the City Engineer for the City of Holmes Beach, the City of Bradenton Beach and the Town of Redington Beach. She serves on the Local Mitigation Strategy Group of Manatee County, the Technical Advisory Committee of the Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Barrier Island Traffic Committee.

Lynn is married to firefighter Seth Burnett and has two teenage sons. She and her family live in Bradenton, Florida and in their spare time, enjoy spending time outdoors, riding horses, and playing golf.

Kenneth Townsend

Ken Townsend is the Senior Construction Manager and Inspector for LTA Engineers. His work experience includes serving as the Assistant Public Works Director for the City of Bradenton, Florida. Ken has over 45 years of experience in Engineering, Planning and Construction Management. Ken is responsible for construction oversight and management, quality control, quality assurance as well as value engineering for private, public and in-house projects.

Ken is married with 2 grown children. He enjoys fishing and riding motorcycles.
